Light: From Dawn to DuskArt Associates Gallery is proud to present Light: From Dawn to Dusk, a collection of photographs by Brenda LaFleur which focuses on the permeating nature of light in photography as well as in the natural world. A reception of the exhibit will be held on Friday, July 15th in the gallery from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The exhibit opened at the beginning of the month and will run through July 30th. LaFleur, a licensed clinical social worker for the Psychology Clinic of Lake Charles, nurtured an interest in travel and family photography throughout her life, and with the rapidly expanding availability of digital cameras, LaFleur turned an interest into an active pursuit twelve years ago. Since then she has attended seminars and classes with nationally recognized photographers and has worked as a Photoshop instructor. With her constant focus and drive to hone her skills, LaFleur has expanded her subjects and photographic interests to include landscape, nature, and macro photography. Light: From Dawn to Dusk brings together an array of LaFleur’s works to offer an all-encompassing experience of the role light plays in photography on both functional and figurative levels. “Light is the foundation of photography,” stated LaFleur. “The quality and quantity of available light provides the lifeblood for the making of a pleasing photograph.” The works in this exhibit engage the viewer in showing the presence of light and the sensory elements of color and texture within the photograph. |
